Hey Mr. Sandman! Sunny Pool Getaway to Santa Rosa

The weather has been so crazy up in the bay lately. One day it’ll be bright and sunny and the next it will be pouring rain. Harper and I have been really craving some sunshine, and so we were super excited when the newly renovated Sandman Hotel reached out and asked if we wanted to come out and have a sunny weekend getaway.  Yes of course! Located out in Santa Rosa, it was only about an hour and a half drive outside the city. Not too shabby. When we arrived we felt like we were instantly transported to Palm Springs. Loved everything about their lobby. We were instantly obsessed with all the bohemian and mid century vibes.

We stayed two nights and we honestly didn’t even feel like leaving their beautiful kidney shaped pool. We spent all day Saturday sitting poolside, soaking up the sun and drinking their blood orange margaritas.

Let’s talk about that poolside bar for a sec, because that wallpaper and matching couch was EVERYTHING. I loved all the little details, like the classic books, the deck of cards, and their neon signs.

Can I take this painting home?

We loved our time at the pool. It was perfect and quiet and exactly what we needed after a hectic week at work. We had plans to check out some wineries and explore Napa/Sonoma, but we ended up just staying by the pool all day long.

We ultimately did  venture out to nearby Healdsburg for dinner. We got to try out Bravas Bar De Tapas! And oh, was it so tasty. We got some delicious patatas bravas, croquetas, lemon asparagus and sautéed scallops. Plus their cocktails were perfectly on point. Of course we got the chocolate mousse to top it all off!

After dinner we walked around Healdsburg, which was so cute, and practically a real life version of Pleasantville. After our little walk through the town square, we decided to head back to the hotel and relax in the hot tub to end a perfect evening.

The next morning we got up and found the cutest coffee shop in downtown Santa Rosa called Flying Goat. Very much our aesthetic and they had delicious lattes. We also got a pre breakfast muffin to tide us over until our real brunch.

And by brunch, I mean we BRUNCHED.  We got set up with reservations at Monti’s in Santa Rosa and it was amazingly delicious. We got all our brunch favorites, including mimosas, chicken and waffles, and eggs Benedict’s. We got to sit outside and enjoy the perfect weather, all while listening to man play live piano in their courtyard. It was all very charming.

After brunch we checked out of the Sandman and headed back to the city. It was really the PERFECT weekend. I hope you all check them out if you are ever visiting wine country! Book a room at this link.

This post was in partnership with The Sandman, but all views were definitely my own. Genuinely had an amazing time!

As always, thank you all so much for reading :)
