Goobers on Ice

Goobers on Ice

We didn't do anything too crazy this New Years Eve. Harper had just come back from traveling in Vermont, and so we decided to be low key and celebrate with some champagne at our apt. We watched a live feed of the ball drop in New York, but then fell asleep soon after. The next morning was wintery and cold, so we decided to bundle up in scarves and layers and go ice skating downtown. It was a blast. Neither of us were very good, but Harper was much more graceful than I. Nevertheless, I somehow succeeded in not falling on my face. Harper... wasn't so lucky. I think he got a little too overconfident towards the end.

Afterwards we went to the Marriott to finally check out the view from their rooftop bar. We got to the lobby right as they opened, as we had heard it can be nearly impossible to get a good seat. We were able to grab an amazing table by their huge arched windows that overlooked the entire city. Our view was looking off towards Sutro Tower, which is our favorite. The views were incredible. The rain clouds had cleared away for an amazing sunset. We enjoyed a couple cocktails and appetizers as we discussed what we were most excited about for this upcoming new year. This bar is definitely now on our "Must Experience List" in SF. I can't believe it took us so long to visit. It is definitely one of our new favorite viewpoints of the city.
