Adventures to Gray Whale Cove

Adventures to Gray Whale Cove

This past weekend we decided to get out of the city and take a little drive down the western coastline. Driving down Highway 1 is absolutely stunning. It is one of my goals to one day take the coastal highway all the way down to LA. We first stopped at the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, about a 30 min drive south of San Francisco.  This amazing spot was full of very tall, and somewhat creepy looking trees. I wouldn't want to be alone in this forest at night. It made for some awesome photos though. The forest sits on a tall cliff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

Next, we drove back north to the Gray Whale Cove. We had to run across the highway and walk down a cliff to get to this secluded and beautiful little beach. It looked as if a storm was brewing in the distance. The waves crashing on the rocks and the moody skies made for fantastic photos though. Both of these spots were the perfect little getaway from the city. It was definitely worth the short drive!
